The ruling party led by President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin could make millions of people invisible with the stroke of a pen.

The Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act of New York State lists asexuality as a protected orientation. It actually went into effect in January 2003; I don’t know if asexuality was included from the start but is now!
SONDA prohibits discrimination on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation in various areas, including:
- In employment;
- In the admission to and use of places of public accommodation, resort, or amusement;
- In the admission to and use of educational institutions;
- In publicly assisted housing;
- In private housing accommodations and commercial space; and
- In relation to credit.
Seeing as how NY is one of the most progressive states in the union, I’m not surprised they’re the first to make such an inclusion of us.

We’ve done other things I really like, like making out and heaving petting. How do I tell her that I don’t want to sleep with her without making her feel inferior, undesirable and bad about herself? I’m scared to hurt her. Should I just compromise and sleep with her?

Based on everything I know and have learned working in sex and relationships for many years, people don’t tend to have or sustain healthy relationships when they do big things for or with partners they don’t also want to do and feel good about themselves.
Taking out the garbage, doing the dishes, giving someone a ride or watching a certain movie when you don’t want to or would rather be doing something else is one thing. Creating babies, converting to a given religion, making legal agreements, moving in together or having sex when you don’t want to do those things are all something else entirely.

- Stories of bullying or hate
- Stories about being happy with yours or someone else’s sexuality
- Abundance or lack of support within the gay community
- Stories regarding your orientation, or sexuality in general
- Questioning stories
- Transsexual/transgender stories
- Stories about being asexual
- Challenges you have overcome
- Challenges you are still dealing with
- Things that you don’t understand about sexuality
- Questions
- Anything else relating to sexuality!

New York Feels Differently
A New York law, passed before Asexual News was founded went into effect recently. Through well-placed cake bribes given to politicians by Asexual activists, SONDA does include Asexuals.

It’s also international bisexuality day. Let’s remember our bisexual allies today to. They may be participate in today’s celebrations by doing the one thing Asexuals most likely aren’t. (Then again, some Asexuals may be getting busy.)
