Anonymous asked: What do you with people who say "asexuality is a valid identity, but NOT a sexual orientation"? What's worse is that they say this in response to posts from asexual things (blogs and whatnot), so they should know better if they actually read it. (They seem to be conflating repulsion with asexuality, from what I can see in their posts where they say this.)
I don’t understand how someone wouldn’t believe it’s a sexual orientation. It’s on the same sexual spectrum as heterosexuality, bisexuality, homosexuality, etc.
I think it’s another case of uneducated ignorance on that person’s part. I’ve personally never come across someone who said that to me before though, but if I did I guess I would reply with what I just said.
